1993

Great Flood (April-Oct)

A wet fall, heavier than normal winter snowfall and heavy spring rains leads to the "Great Flood" of 1993, what will also be known as the "Record Flood of 1993." This becomes the most costly and devastating flood in modern history. Levees break and homes and businesses are destroyed or abandoned. When it is all over more than 20 million acres are inundated in nine states.
